Sorry no pictures. Will have to have someone take one tomorrow. I am finally begining to look pregnant in my work clothes though. Today we went to the Dr and this is how it went. I desided to do the glucose test. I mean how bad can it be and if I am going to be a nurse I want to know what these tests that I tell people about are like. Well lets just say I'm not doing that again. So I go in yesterday before our prenatal class and get the glucose to drink and the instructions are you will probably feel better if you eat 2 hrs before drinking the glucose, then you have to have your blood drawn an hour after drinking the glucose. So I got up before 5:30am and ate a little breakfast. I mean realy anything so I don't get sick. Then I went back to bed but made sure my head was raised so I didn't get heartburn (my very close companion in this pregnancy). Well a little before 7:30 after dozing some off and on I woke up and could feel the heartburn building up. I thought well this isn't to bad yet so lets try to get the glucose down. YUCK!! It took me 10 minutes instead of the 5 you are supposed to drink it in but I did get it down then went to take a shower to get ready for the day. Well by the time I was done with that I could hardly move or talk. We got to the lab just in time with my handy puke dish which I have carried everywhere with me for the last 6 months and I was told just to have a seat in the waiting room and wait. Well this is a timed test and I was pretty desperate to get my blood drawn before I threw up as if I did that the whole experiance would have been for nothing. So I made it back to the bathroom and when I came out the secretary asked me why I didn't tell her it was a timed test. Well lets see I think my exact words that I managed to get out of my mouth on arriving were " I am here for the glucose pregnancy test." Okay if you are working in the lab you should know that is a timed test and if you don't get it done soon enough it is NO GOOD!! I was not going to redue this whole thing. So then she got my insurance paper and drivers license from Floyd and started asking me if my info was current. Okay so I'm still sitting there trying NOT to throw up and managed to get out everything is exactly the same as 3 months ago when I was here. UGGG. Finaly although I never though I would say this as I hate having my blood drawn the lab lady came and rescued me. So I got a blood draw in my right arm. Just got out of the lab and lost everything I had tried to eat in the last few hours but that helped get rid of the heartburn.
So I am still having some heartburn and we desided to go over to the mall because we had checked out of our room and the Dr appt wasn't until later. They were setting up for sidewalk sales so I got a 1/2 hour nap in the car which seemed to help and then went in with Floyd to look around. I managed to resist all the baby girl clothes except for a pair of newborn overalls. Just couldn't resist them. So we got them and then went back to the hospital for my dr appt, which went somewhat like this. First I stepped on the scale and I have lost 5 lbs since my last visit. (I am the only one in the prenatal class of 18 or so that has lost weight) Then I got the Rhogam shot after making sure that it was the right one, so now I have a bandaid on my left shoulder also. Then the Midwife comes in and orders a ultrasound for next visit because I am not getting any bigger although I can garante little bit is as her kicks are getting harder and she can get me in the bladder and the ribs at the same time so I know she is growing. Then they also order a holter monitor which does your heart beat as my pulse tends to go way up while I am at work. So I have low B/P and a high pulse No wonder I feel kinda off sometimes although it could just be job stress. Then before I left they informed me that they didn't draw enough blood (they drew three tubes) at the lab and I needed to get my fingure stuck. UGGGG!! So there went my fingure on my left hand. Well at least I have 3 others. I sugested that I just leave my left arm there and they could do all the blood work they wanted on it and I would pick it up when we go back for our next visit. HAHA.
Then we went to one of the friends funeral lunch and got to see lots of old friends and that was a good time. We also had a nice drive home and it rained this evening so I didn't have to go out and water after all.
As far as I can tell little bit is doing fine. She moves around a lot, has started kicking when we sing in meeting and seems to like music. If I pat my stomach then a lot of times I can get her to kick or maybe elbow where I am patting. She also gets the hicups which the dr said is a sign of a healthy baby.

hehe, snort haha! I like the idea of just leaving your arm there & they can do the blood work, & you can get it next time! hahaha!!
Sounds like your little girl is giving you a hard time already. ;) 10 more weeks....you're almost there! And then you'll forget about all of these pregnancy woes. :)
You can drink 100% juice instead of that yucky glucose drink as long as it has the same grams of sugar. That is what my midwife let me do - it goes down so much easier. You are almost there - very exciting.
Very interesting, Melinda!!! I didn't do the glucose testing with my second pregnancy... I don't think my DR paid enough attention to my chart to even realize it either!
